NOTE: The server is behind a firewall or router if the eth1 IP address is 192.168. or 10.0.

Server Firewall Settings

  • Be sure that TCP Ports 1000-1200, 5000-5200, and 22 are forwarded to the WARES Server if the server is behind a firewall or router
  • If the WARES Server is not behind a firewall or router and all traffic is sent to the server, then be sure that the following rules are setup in Shorewall using the Webmin interface

    (Note: Any errors that are saved will prevent all external access to the server and/or network)
    • ACCEPT TCP 10000:10000
    • ACCEPT TCP 1000:1200
    • ACCEPT TCP 5000:5200
    • ACCEPT TCP 22
  • After entering any rule changes, be sure to click Apply Configuration on the main Shorewall configuration page

 Double-Click eth0
 Statically set IP address

 Click the Hardware Device tab, Check Bind to MAC address:
 Click the Probe button to reassert the MAC binding
 Click OK to save settings
 Double-click eth1
 Statically set IP address

 Enter Workgroup name (default is ATLASWARES)
 Enter Server String (default is WARES Server)
