Background
WARESLite is a Warehouse Management System, or WMS, designed to provide cost-effective inventory management to small private shippers. This program is written in the OpenInsight database from Revelation Software and incorporates components of the modular ATLAS Framework. WARESLite includes the modules described below.
Contact Relationships
The Contacts module in WARESLite performs such customer service functions as letter writing, phone call tracking, faxing, and e-mailing while maintaining a record of all contacts in the database.
Warehouse Management System
WARESLite is a full-featured WMS that can track inventory to five levels: each, pack, case, layer, and pallet. Weight, volume, and dimensions can also be tracked. Inventory can be rotated by FIFO, expiration, or origination date. A locator system follows each storage unit as it moves through the warehouse including those pallets containing mixed goods.
Product History
The WARES program for public warehouse management was first released in 1991 as a DOS application written in Advanced Revelation, or AREV. The final legacy release of WARES was in 2002, and a new WARES Warehousing written for Microsoft Windows(tm) has been developed since then. WARESLite provides the same WMS as WARES Warehousing in a cost-effective format for small private shippers.
