Background

WARES Warehousing is a Warehouse Management System, or WMS, designed to meet the specialized needs of third party logistics providers and public and bonded warehouses. This program is written in the OpenInsight database from Revelation Software and incorporates the modular ATLAS Framework. WARES Warehousing includes the modules described below.

ATLAS Management

ATLAS management is a suite of tools that allows the user to write or modify reports, schedule processes, or execute database utilities using the ATLAS Framework.

Contact Relationships

The Contacts module in WARES Warehousing performs such customer service functions as letter writing, phone call tracking, faxing, and e-mailing while maintaining a record of all contacts in the database.

Electronic Data Interchange

EDI*ATLAS is integrated with WARES Warehousing and maps sending and receiving documents directly to the database using ASC-X12 standards over FTP or value-added networks.

Third Party Services Billing

WARES Warehousing provides a powerful, flexible third party billing module. Warehouses can bill customers for such standard fees as receiving handling, receiving storage, and recurring storage as well as for accessorial fees such as labor, document preparation, and rent. Invoices can be sent on virtually any billing cycle demanded by the customer and each customer can receive his invoices on a different schedule.

Warehouse Management System

WARES Warehousing is a full-featured WMS that can track inventory to five levels: each, pack, case, layer, and pallet. Weight, volume, and dimensions can also be tracked. Inventory can be rotated by FIFO, expiration, or origination date. A locator system follows each storage unit as it moves through the warehouse including those pallets containing mixed goods.

Product History

WARES Warehousing originated with the first release of WARES in 1991, when ATLAS WARES Co was founded. Feature-rich and value priced, WARES quickly became an industry leader in the public warehouse management arena. The original WARES was a DOS application written in Advanced Revelation, or AREV. The final legacy release of WARES was in 2002; a new WARES Warehousing written for Microsoft Windows has been developed since then.
